The Event :
The event will be taking place in November 2002 on Saturday 16th and Sunday
17th running from 4pm until 4am on Saturday and from 2pm to 4am on the
Sunday. The Venue is the S.E One in London Bridge.
(Directly below London Bridge Station) with a Capacity of 3,000 people
in 7 zones.
Entertainment will be spread across the entire complex, utilizing all the
separate areas of the venue to their maximum potential. The high profile
of some of the artists booked to perform, this unique concept and this
fantastic venue will all combine to establish this event as the United
Kingdom's foremost Hip Hop Convention where people can perform, learn,
make progress & teach positive lessons in life and this cultural art.
The Concept :
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, as a sound system and finding it's way to New
York in 1969 via a young man called Kool Herc, Hip Hop is now a global
phenomenon and encompasses music, fashion, art & education.
The objective in the music and way of life in the UK is to teach, dealing
with racism, violence, education & life, the freedom to express knowledge
and to create peace, love, unity & fun. 'Elements of Hip Hop' will
be a chance for these talented acts to showcase their talent and reach
a far wider audience whilst retaining the true spirit of Hip Hop.
Hip Hop unites people from different backgrounds no matter what race or
colour they are and can prove a very positive way of life.
Charity :
50% of all door profits will be donated to the `Children in Need' appeal.
The following week we are holding an
internet auction of paintings designed at the event and signed collectables
for various children's charities.
Eco Friendly :
As an ecological way of putting something back, enough trees will be planted
at various locations around urban spaces to offset the Carbon Monoxide
produced at this event.
Technical Specifications :
7 zones of Music - Art - Dance & Extreme Sport
Audio & Visulas will be supplied by Halo Lighting, Eskimo Noise &
Picture Perfect
Production & Decor will consist of projections, backdrops, video screens,
gaming machines & staging sets.
5 bars serving both soft & alcoholic drinks.
A Mini market will be set up which includes worldwide foodstalls, clothing,
videos & music.
There is disabled access to all areas of the venue.
The age restriction will be 18 plus.
Parking spaces are available around the streets of SE1 with a massive car
park next to the venue.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ's & MC's, with regular live performances
from some of the hottest groups and artists in UK Hip Hop, compered by
Mystro.
